The FAQ on FAQ's
What should a Q&A do?
Every Q&A should answer a question. i.e. Each FAQ answer should start with "How do I ..." or "What is a ..."
What should a Q&A be about?
Each Q&A should be an answer to a specific and frequently asked technical
question. Each Q&A should be focused on one key phrase.
How do I determine if a question is frequently asked?
Each topic should be relevant to a reasonably sized audience. I measure this by taking the keyword phrase (usually two words) from the Q&A and checking it for a score of at least 20 on Overture as reported by the DigitalPoint Keyword Suggestion Tool.
How long should a FAQ answer be?
600-800 words is normal.
How do I avoid writing a duplicate Q&A?
The FAQ has a search function. Search for your Q&A before you write it.
Should all FAQ content be original?
Yes, all FAQ Q&A's should be original content which will NOT be posted elsewhere on the Internet.
What should I avoid in a FAQ Q&A?
Exclamation points!
